Tomorrow marks the official kickoff of the EVA Pro League — the first professional competitive circuit in VR esports, bringing eight major European clubs, a prize pool above €50,000, and a finals run scheduled for the EVA Summit at the end of October.

What is the EVA Pro League

The EVA Pro League is the world’s first professional league dedicated exclusively to VR esports, confirmed by Yassine Jaada, VP Esports at EVA:

“Today, as a game publisher, we are taking a step no one has yet dared to take: creating the first professional virtual reality competition bringing together eight major European clubs.”

The league brings together eight of the most recognized European esports organizations into a full season, with matches played on 500 m² free-roaming VR arenas that require real physical movement — a first for a professional competitive format.

Competition format

  • Home-and-away round-robin — every team faces the others twice, home and away
  • Best-of-3 per series
  • Top 4 teams advance to the EVA Summit playoffs in late October
  • 500 m² free-roaming VR arenas — players move physically through real space synchronized with the virtual environment
  • EVA's proprietary tech lets teams from different locations play simultaneously inside the same shared virtual world

Prize pool and club skins

// PRIZE POOL

EVA puts up a base of €50,000, which grows by 25% of revenue generated by the exclusive club bundles from all 8 organizations.

Each bundle is priced at €19.99 and includes a custom armor skin plus weapon skins in the club's colors — available directly in the EVA Store. The more the community supports a team, the larger the total prize pool grows.

Voices from the clubs

“By joining the competitive circuit, our ambition is now to help develop this league into a new benchmark for top-level competition.”

Fabien “Neo” Devide, Co-Founder, Team Vitality

Why this matters

The EVA Pro League marks the first time VR esports gets a professional circuit backed by traditional esports organizations. Until now, the VR scene has lived in regional communities (see the EVA Bucharest League or the EVA Challenger League) — without an official “top tier.”

With the Pro League:

  • Clubs bring fans — G2, Vitality, Heretics and SK have audiences in the millions combined
  • Clubs bring structure — coaching staff, analysts, training infrastructure
  • The prize pool becomes sustainable — the skin-revenue model directly ties community engagement to prize money

For us at 8BIT Esports, having followed the EVA scene from its early days, this is the moment VR esports crosses the line from passion project to industry.
